Feedback

  • Angliss Water Bottles - Feb 2019

Thank you for your recent feedback on the water bottles handed out during orientation in 2019.

We have provided feedback to our supplier addressing student concerns on leaking bottles. The supplier has now checked every water bottle for leakage and has reassured us that the water bottles are not faulty. If you continue to experience an issue with these, please let the student services team know.

  • Recycling services - July 2018

The Institute is aware that current waste management practices may not meet student expectations.

A recent independent waste audit undertaken at the Institute’s La Trobe Street campus has made a number of recommendations which are currently being reviewed by a working party which includes student representation.

This working party is part of a broader Environmental Sustainability Committee which meets monthly to discuss and address sustainable practices.

Any changes to waste management within the Institute will be published widely including on myWAI where a “green” webpage to promote sustainable initiatives, is under-development.

  • Use of caged eggs - April 2018

William Angliss Institute has sourced alternative products and will switch from caged eggs to a cage-free, barn laid egg at a 10% cost increase.

We were not able to move to a free range egg for a few reasons; the supplier cannot guarantee regular supply, there are strict food safety arrangements for free range eggs, and the inconsistency in free-range eggs to guarantee our final food production.

Although this may not be an ideal outcome, we hope you will support this new arrangement.

  • Coffee Quality - April 2018

Thank you for your recent feedback in relation to the quality of our coffee unfortunately [William Angliss Institute Retail Outlets] are locked into a contract using a Nestle blend of coffee (so we cannot change the blend). We do however send all of our staff to coffee training.

I would be interested in understanding what the issue was with the coffee, this will assist us in addressing the issue.

I will discuss the issue with our manager and get him to monitor the standards and should you have any issues with your coffee please send it back to [Cafe 555/The Bakeshop staff] and we will gladly rectify the issue in the meantime if you would like to come and see myself or Nathan we will gladly make you a new coffee.

  • Meat in vegetarian dishes - Apr 2018

Thank you once again for your feedback, I am unsure how this occurred however I have instructed our chef to do regular briefings with the staff so that they are aware of the dishes, and also use separate serving utensils for the vegetarian dishes.

Should you have any issues again please bring the item straight back to [Cafe 555 staff], and we will gladly rectify the issue.

Please place your written feedback either anonymously or with your contact details in this box and we will attend to it as soon as possible. Dishwashing liquid – you would’ve seen already that a dishwashing liquid dispenser is now available within the kitchenette in the Student Lounge (Building C, Level 1).
